Rehabilitation Program

If you already own or rent a home within the Pueblo boundaries but it needs essential repairs, our Housing Rehabilitation Program can help. We assist with modernization, energy efficiency upgrades, mold remediation, and general safety improvements to make your home more livable.

Program Eligibility

To qualify for home repair assistance:

  • You must reside within the Pueblo boundaries and be an enrolled member.
  • You must meet low- or moderate-income limits.
  • The home must be your main residence.
  • If you rent your home, both you and the property owner must meet the income limits.
  • Homeowners currently in a POJHA-assisted agreement must be up to date on payments.

The Repair Process

  1. Apply: Pick up an application at the POJHA office. You must return it in person or by mail with original signatures.
  2. Waitlist & Priority: We review applications in the order we receive them. We prioritize enrolled Pueblo members and push emergency repairs to the front of the line if the home poses an immediate hazard to your health or safety.
  3. Inspection: Our inspector will visit your home to see what work needs to be done.
  4. Quality Guarantee: We test for and remove lead-based paint if we find it. Plus, we provide a one-year warranty on all our repair work.
