What You Need to Know Before You Apply
Applying for POJHA programs can be an exciting step, but it's important to understand what to expect along the way:
- Who Can Apply: To be eligible for most programs, applicants must be at least 18 years old (unless applying as part of a family unit). Age restrictions may apply for certain programs—please check specific guidelines or ask an intake specialist.
- The Waiting List: Due to high demand, most applicants will be placed on a waiting list after initial approval. Your spot on the waiting list is determined by when your complete application is received and your eligibility status.
- Annual Reapplication: To stay active on the waiting list, you must reapply and update your information every year. If you do not complete your yearly update before the deadline, your name will be removed, and you’ll need to start the application process from the beginning.
- Deadlines Matter: Missing important deadlines for reapplication or submitting updates can mean losing your place in line. Don’t let all your hard work go to waste—mark your calendar and stay in touch with our office.
- What to Expect: The application process includes submitting documents, going through eligibility checks, and possibly providing additional information if requested. Our staff will contact you if anything else is needed.
If you ever have questions or need help with deadlines, call or visit the POJHA office. We’re here to make the process as smooth as possible.
